In the latest efforts to leave the US behind in the dust, Dubai police has just announced mega news.
Dubai police are training their officers to ride Hoverbikes. Crews are training to tackle crime on Hoversurf’s S3 2019 Hoverbike. The new set of wheels are a part of a plan to equip officers with the right tools to reach areas that are difficult to gain access to. The bikes, which can reach a speed of 60 miles per hour, are valued at $150,000. Two crews have already commenced training on the floating vehicles.
Unlike current police cars, the Hoverbikes weighs 253 pounds, but can only travel for 10-25 minutes. They are, however, able to travel for up to 40 minutes, when placed in drone mode.
Police hope to have more drones ready for the mean streets of Dubai by 2020. Hoversurf is prepared to supply them with at least 40 bikes, once the order comes in.
