Drake’s Dad Admitted His Son’s Lyrics About Him Were Made Up

Drake’s Dad Admitted His Son’s Lyrics About Him Were Made Up To Sell Records

Drake’s father Dennis Graham recently appeared on Power 106 to chop up with Nick Cannon and give updates on his life and music career. While there, he also cleared up a few things about his relationship with his famous son.

During the interview, Cannon asked Graham about how it feels to be placed in a negative light in some of his son’s rap songs.

Despite, the rapper previously sharing that his father wasn’t really there for him, Graham said that’s absolutely not true. In fact, he said that Drake admitted to making up things about Graham in his lyrics because “it sells records.”

“I talked to Drake about it. We’ve always been in touch, almost every day. We had a deep conversation about him saying different things about me. I told him it’s not cool, and he responded that it sells records. I just said, ‘Okay, cool.'”

On his Nothing Was the Same track “From Time,” Drizzy alludes to a father-son relationship on the mend.

“On my 2013 track, I talked about dealing with my dad, our impatience, and getting back to basics. We discussed the future and the time we wasted.”

On his Take Care song “Look What You’ve Done,” the Toronto rapper said his father allegedly did not pay child support and thus not being in his life at times.

Also, Drake has not publicly spoken out on his father’s latest interview.
