Drake continues to added to his already extensive list of accolades with another incredible feat. Drake’s added his name to another spot in Billboard’s record book. With his, now No.1, single “Toosie Slide” debuted at the top of the latest Hot 100, He’s now tied with the legendary Mariah Carey’s record of having debuted 3 No. 1 singles on the chart.
Drake matches Mariah Carey, who achieved three No. 1 debuts on the Hot 100 in 1995-97, with her songs “Honey” from her album Butterfly, “Fantasy”, and the Boyz II Men-assisted “One Sweet Day”.
“Toosie Slide” scored the Canadian rapper his seventh total Hot 100 No. 1, as the song dethrones The Weeknd’s hit single “Blinding Lights.” Drake previously earned No. 1 debuts with “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What” in 2018 which tied him with Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande as artists with two No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
The OVO Sound Rapper broke the record for having the most entries ever on the Hot 100 with 37 which is 1 entry shy of tying Madonna’s record of 38 entries.
Drake’s legacy continues to grow as he adds more and more to his already impressive resume and list of accomplishes. With what seems to be no end in sight for his career, Drake could possibly break many more records and set ones of his own.
