Drake has announced that his anticipated debut into the film industry is here to watch…
Drake’s new production is called Monsters and Men. It’s a partnership with Altitude Films, and mimics some of the troubling issues in North America today. Monsters and Men highlights the African American’s struggle with police brutality.
The films description is as follows, “When young father Manny witnesses the police shooting of an unarmed black man, the tight-knit community of Bed-Stuy is pushed to the brink in Reinaldo Marcus Green’s Sundance Award-winning portrait of race, family and consequence.”
Monsters and Men has been granted to play in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Those living in both the UK and Ireland will have the chance to view the film in theaters for a limited period of time.
Drake shared a trailer for the movie on his Twitter account.
According to Drake’s caption, the film has already received some good reviews. He cites Rolling Stone magazine, “A powerhouse that couldn’t be more timely or necessary.”
HNHH says that Monsters and Men are to see a release on certain streaming platforms too. And what a coincidence! This news surfaces just after a surprise Drake documentary hit Netflix. Is Drake about to next Spielberg? Only time will tell!
