Taylor Swift Forgave Kanye West? Here’s the Story Behind ‘Innocent’

One of the most shocking moments of the 2009 VMA Awards was when Kanye West stormed the stage and interrupted Taylor Swift as she was accepting her award. It was an unprecedented act of rudeness, and it left everyone in shock.

After the incident, many celebrities rallied around Swift, including President Obama (who called Kanye a “jackass”) and even Beyonce, who invited her onstage for her video of the year acceptance speech. The public backlash against Kanye was fierce, and he was branded a villain and a jackass by the entire celebrity world.

Taylor Swift and Kanye West story

However, years after the Taylor Swift and Kanye West story, it looks like things have changed between Taylor and Kanye. In a surprising turn of events, Taylor released a song titled “Innocent,” in which she sings about forgiving him. The track is a ballad that was written in response to Kanye’s interruption of her speech, and she expresses sympathy for him on the recording. It’s a beautiful message that is sure to give people hope.

Taylor Swift was obviously still very angry over the incident, but in her own way, she tried to forgive him for what he had done. She also wrote a message about it in the liner notes of her album Speak Now.

But even though she was trying to forgive him, it doesn’t seem like Kanye forgave her. In a recent interview, she told Rolling Stone that she wasn’t happy with the way her song was interpreted.

To prove her point, she also released a bizarre and disturbing video for the single. The video features a fictional bed where Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Donald Trump, Anna Wintour, Caitlyn Jenner, and Ray J are all shown snoozing in the nude. It is reminiscent of Vincent Desiderio’s 2008 Sleep painting, which depicted wax sculptures resembling celebrities snoozing in a bed together.

This was clearly a response to the infamous VMA moment and the whole incident with Kanye. It seemed like Taylor was trying to make a statement about how she was not going to let someone interrupt her and ruin her night.
