DMX is no longer in prison!
On Friday, the rapper was released from Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution. X was serving a year’s sentence, after evading his taxes. But just because he did the crime, doesn’t mean he’s off the hook.
According to TMZ, X still has to pay that money back. He reportedly owes the IRS an estimated $2.3 million in taxes he neglected to pay before his arrest.
Upon his release, DMX will be forced to serve time in outpatient groups. He’ll be sending time in these groups for substance abuse and mental health.
“The Ruff Ryder’s Anthem” rapper was originally supposed to be released on Sunday, but the feds sped the process up because his original release date was on a weekend date.
X is said to have a couple of deals lined up for him though, so he’s still got a career. Supposedly, X has a few movie deals lined up. TMZ reports that one of those of those deals may even be for a potential biopic about his life. He’s also thinking about dropping a new album.
Because you know what they say, rappers always have the best albums after serving time in prison!
