DIESEL Under Fire for Selling Homophobic Slander Stitched in Clothing

“This bomber jacket is crafted from shiny technical satin. It features gathered sleeves, a quilted interior lining and two straps which allow you to wear it like a backpack. It’s embellished with a canvas stripe on the front with the comment ‘FAGGOT’ and with an all-over print and a removable label on the left shoulder with the same comment.”

Diesel is selling a jacket with the word “FAGGOT” printed on it. The brand defends their decision to sell the jacket as a way to embrace negativity. The campaign’s message is “The more hate you wear, the less you care.”

Many people have expressed their disappointment in the brand’s decision to sell clothing that depicts hate speech. Despite the critics, Diesel continues to sell the jacket. They’ve promoted the Haute Couture line with the use of celebrities in their in their promotional video. Nicki Minaj and Gucci Mane are a few of the recognizable.

Tommy Dorfman, who is also in the video, defended the campaign that he helped collaborate on. He let critics know that all proceeds from the jacket are being used to benefit the LGBTQ community in New York. Dorfman identifies as queer.

The jacket was last seen selling for about $450 USD.
