Diddy is making a comeback with his hit series “Making the Band.”
If you grew up watching the first few seasons of MTB, then you know how none of the groups that Diddy actually helped create are actually relevant in today’s music. They’re all pretty much washed up. That list includes Da Band, Day 26, and Danity Kane. Now Diddy making the band may return to your tv.
Though you can’t tell Diddy that, because he’s either one of three things: hard of hearing, stubborn, or in denial.
We’ll go in denial.
The 49-year-old has been hinting at bringing “Making the Band” back for weeks now, according to The Blast.
On Monday, the rap mogul announced that the decision had been officially made to do it.
“MAKING THE BAND DECISION”
I’ve made my decision… #MakingTheBand is coming back!!! This will be a global talent search, upload your auditions now using #MTBcasting!!”
He’s partnering with MTV to bring the series to television. Together, Diddy and MTV hope to successfully relaunch the reality show in the year 2020. This would make it nearly two decades since the first-ever MTB episode aired on television.
The only thing not certain about the reboot is what type of group Diddy has in mind. His first group was assembled of hip-hop artists, the second was assembled of all-male R&B singers, and the last was an all-female group.
However, for anyone interested, all you have to do is send in an audition tape with #MTBcasting.
It’s worth a shot.
