Diddy is in the process of changing lives right in the midst of New York.
The Hip-Hop mogul has officially announced that he would be opening a new charter school right in the heart of Bronx, NY. He also pledged $1 million to the overall project.
“I know from my own experience that receiving a great education makes a huge impact on a child’s future,” he wrote on Instagram. “I want our kids to have access to everything they need to succeed, in school and life. Which is why I’m also pledging $1,000,000 to help give our kids every advantage possible.”
The new school will be under the Capital Preparatory school network in 2019. The Bad Boy CEO helped to develop the network’s first charter school in Harlem.
The Bronx location will be open specifically for 160 students in the sixth and seventh grade. Over a five year period, the school will expand enrollment to 650 students between the sixth and eleventh grade. The found of Capital Preparatory Schools, Dr. Steve Perry, thanked Diddy for his continued support of the network and $1 million pledge.
