Unless you live under a rock, you know the legend that is Diana Ross. Rising to fame from her lead role in the musical group the Supremes, Ross paved the way with hits like “I’m Coming Out”, “Endless Love” and “Stop! In The Name of Love”. Ross rose from the ashes with her new album Thank You. She’s just getting started! After her European tour, Ross returned to The Hollywood Bowl for a two-night special full of good times and good vibes.
The Hollywood Bowl describes her return as follows:

“Fresh off the release of her new album Thank You, Diana Ross returns to the Hollywood Bowl for a two-night tour of her hits, which include “I’m Coming Out”, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, “Stop in the Name of Love”, and so many more. Grammy- and Tony-nominated singer and Broadway star Joshua Henry opens both nights.
Up And Coming Star

I had the pleasure of attending her Friday night show on August 26. A very pleasant surprise of the night was Diana’s opener Joshua Henry. Henry opened the show with so much enthusiasm and a beautiful voice to go with it!
Joshua expressed his gratitude. While opening for Diana Ross he exclaimed, “I am so grateful to be here opening for such a legend!” Not only did Henry do Diana justice, he absolutely nailed his performance!
One of my favorite tracks from him was his song “Guarantee”. The track encapsulates Henry’s energy and spirit with fun and uplifting riffs, reminiscent of a Broadway musical. According to the Hollywood Bowl, “The singer is a Grammy-nominated recording artist best known for his Broadway performances in Carousel, The Scottsboro Boys, and Violet.” Henry’s debut album Grow is available for streaming on all platforms.
Diana Ross Still Got It!

Before the show, spectators around me discussed whether the singer would be able to keep her energy alive. At age 78, Ross showed up full of energy and showed no signs of slowing down! Ross opened the show with her hit song “I’m Coming Out” accompanied by a sparkly orange-ensemble. Known for her iconic style, the singer completed five outfit changes over the course of the show! These included other striking color choices like red, yellow, white, and black.
Diana Ross’s son, Evan Ross, was there to support his mother. As it so happened to be Evan Ross’s birthday, Diana gave her son a shoutout and sang him her song “Love Child.” Ross continued to put on a show throughout the night, ending at around 10:38 P.M.
By the end of the night she had everyone standing up singing along to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” to close out the show. The singer surely exceeded attendees’ expectations! Diana Ross will continue her world tour. She will be hitting states like Minnesota, Massachusetts, and New York.
