Ever since the documentary, Surviving R. Kelly, debuted, Dame Dash has been fuming.
And some of the people that have, unfortunately, caught the worst of his attitude have been Jay-Z, Jim Jones, and others in the industry. According to BET, the rapper took a moment to address what’s been going on between him and the people he once considered close friends.
In a series of videos, he takes time to apologize.
“So JAY-Z, if I’ve offended you, I apologize. Lyor Cohen, if I offended you, I apologize. Steve Stoute, if I offended you, I apologize. Just ’cause you don’t have the same morals and principles, it’s cool. I’m not angry no more. I did what I had to do. I was a little aggravated about Aaliyah, so y’all just caught the brunt end of it. It was therapy.”
The issue first erupted after the docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, premiered on Lifetime. After watching it, Dash was furious with Hov for working with R. Kelly, after Hov allegedly knew Kelly was a sexual predator. However, after taking some time to gather his thoughts, Dash reveals that his friendship means more than feuding.
“I called Jim Jones today like I miss him. I don’t know if y’all know, but I miss him. As a brother, I love his family. I want him to be happy. And Jay, you know, the friendship we had was cool, man. I just miss it. But whatever he doing, he doing. But I’m cool with it, bro.”
No comment has been made from Jay-Z or Jim Jones yet.
