Flourishing American singer and composer Dakoda Rollins recently released an energetic yet calming single entitled “Thank God,” which comes with a smooth melody that contrasts with the intense and vibrant beat of the work.
Dakoda Rollins chatted with us and answered our three specific questions. Check it out below.
HYPEFRESH: Let’s start by introducing ourselves. You know the basics, like your name, age, and where you’re from; you can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with.
Dakoda Rollins: Hey! My name is Dakoda Rollins. I’m a Texas native but am currently in Florida.
HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new “Thank God” single?
Dakoda Rollins: “Thank God” came about when another local beatmaker sent me the piano sample you hear throughout the song. I took it and made an instrumental, but I couldn’t get the melody where I followed the piano line out of my head.
So I just added some words to the rhythm and tones already there. I wanted to write a song that people could relate to when it came to living your best life and progressing in your current season.
HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?
Dakoda Rollins: What I like best about musical artists is that they create art associated with an experience or an emotion. Memories fade and emotions flee, but to be able to write something while those are present so you can never forget and hearken back is such a powerful gift.
