HYPEFRESH: Let’s start by introducing ourselves. You know the basics, like name, age, and where you’re from, as much or little as you’re comfortable sharing.
Cristine: I am a Southern California-based Filipino singer, songwriter, and lawyer, who practices law daily while focusing on my passion for singing and songwriting after work hours.
HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new single, “You’re Not the One”?
Cristine: I wrote my single, You’re Not The One, after a long conversation with a friend about her relationship issues, which sparked the inspiration for this song because many women go through toxic relationships, sacrificing so much of themselves and feeling disillusioned in the process. This song talks about emotions when reflecting on an unhealthy relationship and anyone who’s survived these struggles
HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?
Cristine: What I love about being an artist is practicing transmuting feelings and experiences into something tangible, like music, so you can evoke emotions with the music and lyrics you sing. I love creating music with melodies that resonate with my feelings when writing a song.
