Reports started to swirl that the Cleveland Browns were interested in a hiring a female head coach. One league source, even suggested that Condoleezza Rice, former Secretary of State, was a likely candidate.
The news came as a shock to some sport’s fans, who thought the idea was far-fetched. In the history of the NFL, there has never been a female coach, and many didn’t agree that the NFL should ever allow that. But, unbeknownst to some, Rice has a broad knowledge of sports. In the past, she’s been known as a dedicated Brown’s fan, has served as the College Football Playoff selection committee, and recently chaired a commission on college basketball.
Fortunately, for all those who doubted her ability, John Dorsey, the team’s general manager, has negated all claims.
“Our coaching search will be thorough and deliberate, but we are still in the process of composing the list of candidates and Secretary Rice has not been discussed,” he said.
Rice even offered her thoughts on the subject, in a post below.
What do you think? Is the world ready for a female head-coach?
