Colin Kaepernick has struck a settlement with the National Football League.
After a long history of disagreements, Kaepernick’s attorneys, Mark Geragos and Ben Meiselas, are proud to report good news regarding both parties.
In a statement, they say:
“For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL.”
They follow with:
“As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances. The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party.”
TMZ reports that the deal remains confidential.
Eric Reid joins Kaepernick in the good news. Since taking a knee on the field, both Kaepernick and Reid claim that the NFL purposely kept them off the rosters as a form of punishment, resulting from their blatant protest. But, according to the NFL, such accusations are absurd. In 2018, Colin Kaepernick trained like a gladiator for a possible spot on NFL team. However many believed that he was blackballed from even being considered for a spot on a team. Despite not getting signed to a team, Kaepernick signed a major star deal with Nike.
Still, despite the big win, Kaepernick remains to be a free agent.
