Chance the Rapper might be mainly known for his music, but he is also equally passionate about helping his local community. While speaking at the second annual summit for his SocialWorks non-profit in Chicago, he announced that he would be donating $1 million to the city’s mental health services.
Here’s how it works. Six different mental wellness providers will be receiving $100,000 grants. Chance will also be giving $100,00 to 20 more schools in Chicago over the cours of three years. In total, $2 million will be going to public schools.
“With the help of SocialWorks, we want to change the way that mental health resources are being accessed by you,” he said.
