Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s music video, “WAP”, premiered on August 7th.
The music video features Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion living a luxurious lifestyle. Inside their lavish home, the two are accompanied by some big cats. Carole Baskin has since expressed her discontent with the tigers’ appearance in the new music video.
Carole Baskin became a popular household name this past spring, thanks to the popular Netflix documentary Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.
On the show, Carole Baskin is depicted as both a husband murderer and a crazy cat lady. Carole has dedicated her life to being a big-cats rights activist, and is the CEO of Big Cat Rescue.
Due to her background, it makes sense that Baskin has issues with the two rapper’s new video. Baskin sees the video as glamorizing having big cats as household pets, which she views to be a major problem.
Baskin also pointed out that the tigers in the video were most likely trained to be filmed for such a production. Training for tigers, according to Baskin, usually includes maltreatment practices such as shocking and or starving the animals.
Billboard has reached out to Cardi B for a response to Carol Baskin’s critiques.
Cardi B has expressed her love for the Tiger King show in the past, however she has voiced support for Joe Exotic. As fans of the show would know, Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin aren’t exactly on the best terms.
Cardi B and Carol Baskin might have more than a few things that they disagree on…
