Cardi B is taking the world by storm. After announcing her departure from Love and Hip Hop: New York at the end of last year, the reality star has been doing big things in terms of her career. Her recurring role on hit BET show Being Mary Jane. Her mixtape release, Gangsta B***h Music Vol. 2. Cardi B is doing her thang these days.
According to The Jasmine Brand, Cardi B has landed a major deal with Atlantic Records: “They believe in Cardi’s talent. She’s signed a multi-million dollar deal with Atlantic.”
The reports have not yet been confirmed or denied by the Brooklyn emcee, but it is very clear she is ready to take her career to the next level. In an interview with Vibe Viva last year, Cardi B talks about her work ethic.
“Everything I do, I take seriously. Everything, everything, everything,” she said. “Everything I do takes me time. I don’t want people to think I became a rapper because I was on Love and Hip Hop. There are a couple of songs that are on [Gangsta B***h Music Vol. 1] that I been did before Love and Hip Hop, it just wasn’t completely perfect. It wasn’t completely perfect and everything takes time. It took me like a year to complete the mixtape. Everything I do, it takes a lot of time for me to do it because only the best sells, you know? If you want people to take you seriously, you gotta do the best.”
Fans had high hopes that Cardi B would reconsider leaving the reality show, but sources are saying she no longer has any interest in being apart of the Love & Hip Hop cast, believing the drama associated with the show would get in the way of her being taken seriously in this industry.
She will be missed, but I know Cardi has something bigger and better in store for her fans.
