While Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, and Tom Brady seem to be an unlikely mix, these A-Listers gathered together to encourage Diaz to rejoin the spotlight. Tom Brady famously retired from his 22 seasons-long career in the NFL only to un-retire a month later, according to Deadline .
“Back in Action” Team
In addition to starring in the film opposite Diaz, Foxx is executive producing. Brendan O’Brien, Datari Turner, and Mark McNair will also serve as executive producers. Seth Gordon (“Horrible Bosses”) is directing “Back in Action.” Foxx’s Twitter indicates the film will begin production later this year. Gordon and O’Brien penned the screenplay.
An Angel, A Princess, An Ogre
“Back in Action” will be Cameron Diaz’s first movie role since 2018. She appeared in the recent “Annie“ musical adaptation for Sony. The actress has earned four Golden Globe nominations during the course of her career. Some of her most beloved work is featured in “Charlie’s Angels.” She famously voiced Shrek’s damsel in distress, Fiona, in the Dreamworks film of the same name.
Diaz’s soon-to-be co-star Jamie Foxx has earned an Academy Award during his career, as well as other nominations. He most recently appeared in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” for Marvel. Foxx also appeared in “Annie” with Diaz. Prior to that production, the two actors worked on the 1999 film “Any Given Sunday.”
