Brothers Confirm Jussie Smollett is Telling the Truth About the Mysterious Check

The case surrounding Jussie Smollett continues to get more and more complicated.

Just recently, the Osundairo brothers have confirmed that the infamous $3,500 check was actually for fitness training. Up until now, the Chicago police department was certain that Smollett presented the check to the two brothers, for the purpose of helping them to purchase items for an alleged attack. Gloria Schmidt, the brother’s attorney, announced the news on Monday. She adds that the check served as payment to help the Osundairo brothers prepare Smollett for an upcoming music project.

However, somewhere along the way, there was some misinterpretation regarding the check’s true purpose. According to Chicago PD, Smollett’s actions were meant for ill-intentions.

“Smollet paid $3,500 to stage this attack and drag Chicago’s reputation through the mud in the process.”

If things check out in JS’s favor, it seems like authorities will have some apologies to issue. However, it’ll have to wait until after Smollett’s case is heard. The Empire star was given a 16-count indictment. If found guilty, Smollett could face up to 64 years in prison for making a false police report.
