Breonna Taylor protests erupt across the US

Protests have erupted nation-wide following the recent announcement of the Grand Jury decision in Breonna Taylor Trial. Like so many others before her, Breonna will not get the justice she so rightly deserves. Yesterday, Kentucky officials announced that none of the officers would be charged for the murder of Breonna Taylor and Louisville Officer Brett Hankison would be charged with three counts of wanton endangerment in connection to the police raid back in March.

Earlier a city-wide curfew went into effect and the national guard was called into to extinguish crowds caught protesting after curfew.

Major cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Las Vegas and more have come out in support of Breonna but also in frustration of the verdict.

Chaos soon ensued, after two Louisville Metro police officers were shot. Now in stable condition, the officers are expected to make a full recovery. Although they have a suspect in custody, law enforcement is leaving no stone unturned.

Interim Police Chief Robert Schroeder told reporters “I am very concerned about the safety of our officers.”

And he has a right to be, many may recall that recently two Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies were ambushed by a gunman. The two deputies were sitting in their patrol when the suspect approached the car and opened fire. Shot a point blank range, bullets rand through the passenger-side window on Sept. 12 outside the Martin Luther King Jr. Transit Center.

This is the first of what is expected to be many misaimed retaliations towards law enforcement. What are your thoughts on Breonna Taylor’s trial? How will you protest?
