BREAKING NEWS: LA Sparks And Elizabeth Cambage Depart

LA Sparks star center Elizabeth Cambage is departing from the Sparks, reported Mike Robinson for the Ballout. There can be several reasons why the Sparks and Cambage didn’t work out. However, many speculate Cambage was growing too big for the team to find success outside of the game of basketball. Many speculated that her teammates struggled to connect with her and she wasn’t respected as much in the locker room. Whatever may be the cause of the demise of Cambage and the LA Sparks, it’s to be announced Tuesday morning that four-time WNBA All-Star is departing.

Cambage not fitting in Los Angeles is a true shame! She was capable of opening the floor so much, allowing others to flourish. This is her first season with the Sparks after returning to the WNBA to play for the Las Vegas Aces. Not to mention, in 2018, she holds the WNBA single-game scoring record with 53 points against New York Liberty.

Elizabeth Cambage’s Grand Opening and Closing

Cambage only suited up for 25 games of the Sparks’ 27 games this season, according to Yardbarker. In the most recent game, she recorded 11 points, five rebounds, three blocks, and two steals in just two minutes. As one can see, she’s very active and effective on the court offensively and defensively. However, her actions aren’t resorting to winning in the long run, in fact, they lost by 18 in their most recent game. Sadly, in the Sparks’ last four games, they have lost three of those four. Initially, Cambage came to the Sparks to be in a better scenery and exciting atmosphere to help build and win. Yet, this hasn’t proved to come to fruition, and naturally when losing occurs people aren’t the happiest.

The aging superstar is averaging her career lows this year with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 23 minutes per game, according to ESPN. There are several controversies around Cambage that could have caused the ruffling of feathers. Earlier this year, Cambage was alleged to be using a racial slur directed at players on Nigeria’s team. Nigeria faced Australia in a heated scrimmage when the egregious comments were displayed.

We wish her well and are looking forward to seeing Cambage’s next move.
