“Nobody told me to rap on electronic dance music and create a hybrid,” states Bok Nero. “Just like nobody told rappers to spit over disco breakbeats and create hip hop. It ain’t no rules, I make my own rules! I’m spittin fire, plus I really understand the EDM culture like no other rapper. Hood EDM! This is me makin festival music for the hood, the traps, and the favelas all over the world!”

Hood EDM carefully traces Bok Nero’s footsteps since he emerged on the scene in 2016 with the help of producer Jahlil Beats. Their joint EP Lorde of Legions set the tone for Nero’s future worldwide genre-crisscrossing. This early momentum lead to support gigs and guest appearances for a mix of the hottest hip hop and dance music acts — Chief Keef, Yellow Claw, Zomboy, UZ, Buddy and QUIX. Nero additionally became a fixture on numerous high profile Steve Aoki performances, including Ultra Music Festival 2018, EDC Japan 2018, Tomorrowland 2017, 2018’s nationwide Kolony bus tour as well as the Dim Mak Neighborhood mini-festival in Brooklyn this past June. Alongside his globetrotting, Bok Nero’s musical output remained focused, consistently dropping singles and collaborations, many of which are featured on Hood EDM.
