Bill Nye the Science guy flipped his lid earlier this week.
While appearing on “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver,” Nye talked about the impending danger being done to the planet. In short, he insisted we were all doomed if we didn’t do something about global warming.
Nye has spent his life teaching children about science and how cool it can be, but one of his former group of students…us…has been one of his biggest disappointments. With more carbon being released and our alleged neglect to care, Earth will not be able to sustain a healthy balance for much longer.
“By the end of this century, if emissions keep rising, the average temperature on Earth could go up another four to eight degrees. What I’m saying is the planet’s on f–king fire,”
Nye is in favor of a new plan called the Green New Deal, which aims to put a tax on carbon-emitting technology, and is currently being propositioned to politicians and lawmakers. Apparently, the deal would help lower the amounts of carbon being let loose into the atmosphere, because people won’t want to pay for it.
He concluded with:
“There are a lot of things we could do to put it out, are any of them free? No, of course not, nothing’s free, you idiots, grow the f–k up. You’re not children anymore. I didn’t mind explaining photosynthesis to you when you were 12, but you’re adults now and this is an actual crisis. Got it? Safety glasses off, motherf–ker.”
