Big Sean Don Walks Away From G.O.OD Music After 14 Years

Big Sean is entering a new phase in his life, evidently. Sources report that Big Seans walks away from Kanye’s music label, G.O.O.D Music. G.O.O.D is an acronym for getting out our dreams.

After a purposeful 14 years with the label, Sean announces on Friday, October 29 that is choosing to walk away from G.O.O.D Music.

    What is G.O.O.D Music?

In 2004 before the George Bush and Katrina debacle, Kanye boasted his new record label, G.O.O.D Music, comprised of various artists. Def Jam Records, the mother label oversaw the label. At that time, Kanye hand-picked every artist on the label establishing a rich group of emotional, hood storytellers.

Artists like John Legend, Kid Kudi, Travis Scott, No I.D, are among the selected artists. Most of Kanye’s artists are still very active, still making hits. For example, Travis Scott is a heavy hitter. Travis continues to roar that Texas sound over autotune.

    The Man Behind the Label

Kanye, now Ye, is a giver and a fair man of his word – for the most part.

He is an advocate for anything the believes in, as he mirrors martyrism. He believes in the freedom to create, and the power of artists owning their masters. According to NME, in September of 2020, Kanye took to Twitter to announce that he is paying back 50% of his ownership to his artists.

While Sean Don has a memorable rapport with G.O.O.D music, he announced to the industry and fans that he is moving on to bigger and better things.

Born on March 25, 1988 makes him fall under the sun sign Aries. Aries, the ram is built to always journey bigger and better things—and that is exactly what he is doing.

    Sean tweeted:

“By the way, this is the first project where I’m on my own label as well, no more lil dawg sh*t! I bossed up!

Then he reflected on his time under Ye’s label.

“That’s a forever brotherhood.” He stated that he  doesn’t know what happened along the way. “We really used to be clique’d up.”

According to HipHipDX, the rapper released 5 solo albums over the past 1.5 decades. These albums include Finally Famous, Hall of Fame, Dark Sky Paradise, Detroit 2, and I Decided, as well as TWENTY88, with Jhene Aiko, and Double or Nothing with Metro Boomin’.
