    Bernie Sanders Ends Presidential Campaign

Senator Bernie Sanders Has Officially Ended His 2020 Presidential Bid

After ending his Presidential Bid, Bernie Sanders cleared the path for Joe Biden. Sanders announced to his staffers in his hometown of Vermont.

Although Sanders was very popular among millennials and younger voters, the senator faced an uphill battle. Lackluster performances in debates and primaries left the senator on the outside looking in.

Furthermore, Sanders’s cause was not helped by coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe. Several states held primaries Tuesday despite the social distancing order in place. The plan was for the senator to make a push during these elections, but his team was against holding the elections at all, stating:

“Holding this election during the coronavirus outbreak is risky, ignores public health experts’ advice, and could result in fatalities.”

Due to this, the campaign opted out of any “get out and vote” activities that usually bring in more voters who are Sanders friendly. It now seems inevitable that Joe Biden will receive the democratic nomination for president.

Biden spoke Tuesday night as if he already knew Sanders would be pulling out the race.  The former vice president said, I appreciate Bernie Sanders and his supporters for their efforts and passion. Together, we will defeat Donald Trump.

After the official announcement of Bernie Sanders ending his presidential campaign, Biden put out a statement.

As America struggles to deal with the coronavirus and its effects. It is interesting that the candidate whose policies are most needed during this time is calling it quits. Conversely, no time in history has further proved the need for a universal healthcare system and free college education. Yet American citizens will most likely get caught up in the cat and mouse game between politicians and big business.

What do you guys think about Bernie Sanders ending his Presidential Campaign? Was it the best move to help the democratic party defeat Trump? Or could Bernie have made an improbable comeback?
