Ben & Jerry’s Slams Trump With New Flavor “PeCan Resist”

Ben And Jerrys Slams Trump

“Together, PeCAN Resist” is Ben & Jerry’s slogan for their newly released ice cream, “Pecan Resist.”

On Oct. 30th, they released their new limited-batch flavor ice cream to join the fight in seeking justice.

The pint-sized amount of justice bursts with flavor. It has a chocolate based ice cream with white and dark fudge chunks. They’ve got pecans, walnuts, and fudge-flavored almonds in there, too.

Furthermore, such a bold stand on injustice, Ben & Jerry’s feels they “cannot be silent in the face of President Trump’s policies that attack and attempt to roll back decades of progress on racial and gender equity, climate change, LGBTQ rights, and refugee and immigrant rights – all issues that have been at the core of the company’s social mission for 40 years.”

She’s an activist, artist, speaker, organizer, and nonprofit owner of CultureStrike.

Overall, this isn’t the first time B&J’s used their platform to promote justice. In 2016 EmpowerMint took place releasing voting rights. Flavor Chubby Hubby changed to Hubby Hubby to celebrate same-sex marriage in Vermont, in 2009.

Ben & Jerry’s Call to Action

B&J’s collaborated with 4 nonprofit’s to promote their messages to the fan base they’ve built for the past 40 years. Nonprofits Color of Change, Honor the Earth, Neta, and the Women’s March received $25,000, each, in donations from the company.

Their press release strongly states, “Alongside all those nutty chunks, this pint packs a powerful message under its lid: together we can build a more just and equitable tomorrow. In addition, we can peacefully resist the Trump administration’s regressive and discriminatory policies and build a future that values inclusivity, equality, and justice for people of color, women, the LGBTA community, refugees, and immigrants.”

Ben & Jerry’s encourages you to join their resistance and find your polling place to vote!
