Marc E. Bassy is back.
“Free Like Me’, a track-focused on live instruments and vocal performance, is Marc’s first new releases since the pandemic took hold and the tour for his album Post Modern Depression was cut short. The track features one of modern music’s most innovative minds, Cory Henry, on the organ. Cory is known for his work with Frank Ocean, J. Cole, Quincy Jones, and more.
Marc said about the track, “This is the music I make when the world is on the brink. It has to have the integrity to it musically and lyrically. I can’t just say what everyone else is saying. I have to try harder than that. There’s a revolution going on in our country right now and my music has to reflect that. Not necessarily in subject matter but always in authenticity and effort.”
‘Free Like Me’ will be a part of his next full-length project due out in 2021 via his label New Gold Metal / PIVTL Projects.
