Barry Jenkins has been busy directing and producing his new film If Beale Street could talk. It looks like he will be even busier now. According to the wrap, Jenkins’s company, Pastel, has recently signed a first look deal with Amazon. He will direct a new series coming to Amazon called
The Underground Railroad.
The series will follow a young slave named Cora as she makes her way to freedom from the south.

Jenkins had this to say about his new partnership with Amazon: “We at Pastel are excited to continue our Amazon relationship begun on ‘Underground Railroad’ and look forward to growing that partnership on projects near and beyond.”
