Bad Bunny Wins Artist of the Year at the VMA’s

The urban artist Bad Bunny won last night ‘Artist of the Year’ award at the MTV VMA Awards. Benito A. Martinez Ocasio (Bad Bunny) became the first Latino artist to receive it.

“I have no words to describe how I feel. How proud I am to be here tonight at Yankee Stadium receiving this award,” he said, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd that had just sung his song with him.

Once it was announced, the channel contacted Bad Bunny from the Yankee Stadium in New York. Where he sang his hit single ‘Tití Me Preguntó‘. By the time the performance was done he had received the award from NBA player, Carmelo Anthony.

“I have been saying it and I always believed from the beginning that I could become something big. That I could become one of the biggest stars in the world, without having to change my culture, my language, my language, my jargon.”

The MTV Video Music Awards is known as the most veteran award show the MTV channel has. This year was celebrated last night in New Jersey. Moreover, Bad Bunny was also nominated for Best Latin Award, but Brazilian singer Anitta took home the award for her song ‘Envolver‘.

Besides being nominated for Artist of the Year the Puerto Rican singer received three other nominations: Best Latin Video, Song of the Summer, and Album of the Year. Jack Harlow took the Song of the Summer award for ‘First Class‘. While Harry Styles won Album of the Year for Harry’s Home.

“I am Benito Antonio Martínez from Puerto Rico to the whole world, thank you!”
