Amazon Claims Exclusive Rights To Rihanna Documentary

As the world anxiously waits for Rihanna’s comeback to music.  The singer has been quite the busy person with multiple businesses and projects. Most recently, a documentary based on the singer’s life has been announced by both director Peter Berg and Amazon.

The marketplace giant has paid a total of around $25 million for exclusive rights to the documentary. Berg, who worked with Rihanna on the 2012 film, Battleship, will be spearheading the production of the film.

The documentary is an inside “unfiltered look” into the singer’s business and humanitarian efforts.  It will also provide a glimpse into the evolution of one of the world’s most well-known pop artists. With unparalleled access to the singer’s life and more than 1,200 hours of footage. The much sought after documentary will also offer an intimate view into Rihanna’s life, including her personality, personal views, family, and relationships.

Berg’s Rihanna project was shopped to multiple distributors, with streaming services being the most aggressive suitors. Eventually Endeavor Content, the company behind the production of the documentary, was able to negotiate a deal with Amazon. The move will strengthen Amazon’s Prime platform, which has become a huge competitor in the streaming war.

Although this may not be exactly what the Rihanna Navy wants, this will have to do for now. And it is something that will surely please her fans as they continue to keep an eye out for any hint of new music from the Grammy Award-winning Singer.

As far as the release date of the documentary, there hasn’t been any word on when it will hit the streaming service.
