Alex Trebek Admits Dying Doesn’t Scare Him

Alex Trebek may be leaving his job as the host of “Jeopardy!” for good.

In the wake of Alex Trebek’s battle with pancreatic cancer, he may be unable to continue as host. Reportedly, it is becoming too difficult for him to carry on his hosting duties. According to NBC News, Trebek is suffering from certain side effects as a result of the cancer, and he doesn’t want them to interfere with his health or career.

During an interview, he tells of his difficult decision.

“I’m hanging in. So we’re back on the chemo, and we’ll see if the numbers go down. And if they do … they can’t keep doing it forever.”

Trebek first announced his stage 4 cancer in March. Since then, he’s been on a mission to regain his health. However, the chemotherapy isn’t going as planned.

However, he’s optimistic about his future and accepts the idea of death…if it were to happen.

“I’m not afraid of dying. I’ve lived a good, full life, and I’m nearing the end of that life … if it happens, why should I be afraid of that?”

    He adds…

“One thing they’re not going to say at my funeral, as a part of a eulogy, is ‘He was taken from us too soon.”

Trebek is 79 years old. He’s been a host of “Jeopardy!” for 36 seasons.
