    Actress and Comedian, Natalie Desselle Reid Passes Away at 53

    Today is a sad day in the world of entertainment. Actress and comedian Natalie Desselle Reid has passed away after battling colon cancer. Most known for her roles as Mickey in the iconic film, BAP*S; Minerva in Cinderella; and Janie Egins in Eve; Natalie was a veteran in the game.

    The year 2020 started off to a rough start and it seems it’s only getting worse. The actress passed away on Monday morning after she was diagnosed earlier this year. Many reports have noted that she was surrounded by family when she died. Many of her friends, fellow industry colleagues and former co-stars went to social media to share their condolences. Halley Berry later tweeting that she was in “utter shock.”

    For many that are unfamiliar with the notorious movie, BAP*S. In the 1997 film, Natalie plays Halle Berry’s sidekick and friend. The two actresses star as waitresses in Georgia who fly to Los Angeles to audition for a music video. In an unusual turn of events, the two ladies end up working and caring for elderly millionaire. Turning lemons into lemonade, the two use their situation to their advantage.

    Many other socialites addressed her passing including actress Holly Robinson Peete. Pete posted on social media sharing that she is “I am absolutely decimated by this news. Natalie Desselle was a bright shining star. She will be so missed. I am sending out prayers to her children and husband.”
