Abortion pills sound convenient for women who just want to make a natural and personal choice. The FDA ain’t having it as their launching an investigation on the website that is selling them online.
According to Jezebel:
According to reports, this method is effective and safe.
The pills consist of two compounds: mifepristone and misoprostol.
The FDA has since put out a statement claiming:
“Mifepristone, including Mifeprex, for termination of pregnancy is not legally available over the Internet, the agency takes the allegations related to the sale of mifepristone in the U.S. through online distribution channels very seriously and is evaluating the allegations to assess potential violations of U.S. law.”
Daniel Grossman, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California at San Francisco, stated after testing the results of a study on the safety of abortion pills:
It looks like another battle is brewing up again over a woman’s rights to make a personal choice. We’re sure that this won’t sit well with the people in support of human rights.
