A$AP Rocky aims to clear his name.
In a Swedish courtroom, A$AP Rocky expressed his fear and attempts to avoid a confrontation that occurred last month in Stockholm.
The rapper is currently on trial for an alleged assault on 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari in Sweden.
Rocky took the stand for the first time on the second day of the trial at Stockholm District Court.
He recounted how Jafari and his friend persisted in bothering his entourage, despite Rocky’s efforts to avoid conflict. He believed the two were likely “under the influence of some kind of drug.”
As Rocky and his crew tried to download an app for an electric scooter, things took an unsettling turn.
“Things got a little weird. We thought that the behavior of these guys was strange, it got a bit scary,” Rocky testified, wearing a green inmate outfit, according to CNN.
He added, “After a while, my security guard started pushing him away, begging him to leave.”
Rocky emphasized that he and his team aimed to defuse the situation, saying, “Me and my crew told them that, ‘Listen, don’t go where we are going, go the other way, we don’t want any trouble.'”
He expressed his assumption that the individuals involved were likely influenced by drugs.
“At this point, we are really scared. I saw my security guard being cut, bleeding. We didn’t know what to expect with these strangers — I’m not from Sweden, so it was really scary,” Rocky said.
Since July 3, Rocky has been in police custody. If convicted, he could face up to two years in prison.
Above all, the rallying cry for Rocky’s freedom in Sweden remains strong!
