A$AP Bari, the former member of the A$AP Mob, has pleaded guilty in a sexual assault case in London.
A$AP Bari, real name Jabari Shelton, allegedly made his way into a woman’s room one night and attempted to have sex with her in 2017. When she refused, Bari followed the woman, identified only as Jane Doe, into the bathroom and assaulted her. Rumors of the incident then spread throughout the industry. Bari denied that this happened until a video of the incident surfaced in July 2017. Bari was not arrested until May 2018. According to the source, A$AP Bari released this statement after the video was released:
“Comments about myself or anyone being detained or arrested are false. We have resolved this issue amicably among all parties as adults. We were friends before this and will remain friends afterwards. Being raised by strong women who taught me to respect everyone, I’m disappointed in the situation as well as myself and will reflect on the situation appropriately.”
A$AP Bari could spend the next six months in prison for this assault. He has been fined £4,000 ($5,000) and £2,500 ($3150) for his victim.
According to ITV the judge told Bari:
“The court does have concerns in this matter because it has exposed a very unpleasant attitude by you towards women.” “You say that you were angry but there is no need to ever be so abusive and humiliating to a female.”
