    21 Savage, Metro Boomin’ ‘Savage Mode 2’ Is Unapologetically Cold: Review

    In 2016, an untested, unbeknownst to most, rising 21 Savage shocked the world with the surprising collaboration project with an accomplished producer Metro Boomin, titled, Savage Mode. While Atlanta had already held a vice-grip hold on Hip Hop at the time, the projected that released hit songs “X,” “Savage Mode” and “No Advance” introduced a new regime of young talents that are now today’s biggest names. Now, four years and three albums later, 21 and Metro reunite for a patiently-awaited sequel in today’s Savage Mode 2.

    Extending from the nine-song original to a 15-track blockbuster. A primed 21 and Metro delivers a cinematic masterpiece in an audio treatment. With songs like “Mr. Right Now,” “RIP Luv” and the lead single “Runnin,” 21 Savage elevates the original heartless concept with even more ruthless desires but executed with in-depth precision and skill. Metro digs deep for the darker effects which takes 21 Savage to deeper waters but the two, in unison, unearth some of the best Hip Hop of 2020 yet.

    21 Savage puts the past behind him and fans will love the wiser artist who still raps about the same situations; however, displays a different approach through wisdom. Like your favorite hood classic, the album has timeless replay value. For subject matter, 21 Savage leaves nothing unanswered and is completely honest.

    Morgan Freeman is brilliant as the narrator. Setting the mood, he has us glued to the music from beginning to end with his thunderous voice. Supplying the album with shock value, originality and score-worthy appeal. A co-sign from a goat in film solidifies the project’s classic labeling.

    In totality, the second volume in the ongoing 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’ series surprisingly goes way beyond exceeding expectations. And with Savage Mode 2 as proof, 21 Savage interrupts the debate of Atlanta’s best rapper/producer duo of all-time. This will leave you dying for volume 3 instantly.

    21 Savage, is a rapper, songwriter and record producer. Born in London, he was brought to Atlanta, Georgia, by his mother when he was seven years old. He became known in Atlanta for the 2015 mixtape The Slaughter Tape before attaining nationwide attention following an EP collaboration Savage Mode (2016) with the producer Metro Boomin and its popular singles “X” and “No Heart”, as well as guest features on the 2016 Drake single “Sneakin'” and the 2017 Post Malone chart-topping single, “Rockstar”.
